Description

On a cool Winter night in January, stars move across the evening sky over Wehr's Dam in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This image was taken at Covered Bridge Park, located in South Whitehall Township, a suburb of Allentown. Large power pylons carry miles of high voltage power lines through this area and cross over the Jordan Creek, which cascades over the dam. The newly constructed Jordan Creek Greenway is visible on the other side of the creek. This is a trail that will eventually connect this area to other area parks.

This image is a combination of 120 long exposure images blended together to capture the motion of the night stars over the course of 1 hour. Off frame are holiday lights, that the township puts up ever year, providing very convenient foreground lighting on the dam.

This is a black and white rendition of the original photograph for buyers interested in this type of format.
